Τέλος στα 'Black Boxes'

Το βασικότερο πρόβλημα με τις μετρήσεις, κάθε είδους μετρήσεις, είναι το αδιαφανές της μεθόδου και η μη πρόσβαση στα παραγόμενα δεδομένα.

Για παράδειγμα η AGB Nielsen με περηφάνια δηλώνει στη σελίδα της για τη μεθοδολογία ότι:

"the "heart" of the AGB system is the production software POLLUX. POLLUX performs the collection, control, processing, validation, weighting and final production of the data and the quality control tables used every day. Media Services develops and supports POLLUX, which is based on the concept of the "black box". This means that only AGB Media Services has access to the source codes and none of the sister companies, a fact which ensures the operation of the system in a uniform, transparent and reliable manner in all countries of the Group.Transparency of all procedures is a major characteristic of POLLUX. This means that one may look back in time and examine the whole production process for any given day. The auditors of the system thus have full access to any information for any period."

Black box και transparency στην ίδια πρόταση! Δεν ξέρω αν τελικά αυτό το δεύτερο post είναι πιο αστείο από το πρώτο!
